We used to say LeBrons are heavy, but there’s a trade off. With some extra materials LeBrons have been offering extra protection, unmatched comfort and stability. However, nowadays the trend is to make shoes as light as possible. Exactly one year ago Nike introduced the “lightest and strongest basketball shoe ever” - the Hyperdunk - but it was their first use of the Flywire and Lunarite Foam and it’s safe to say there’s still much room for improvement (performance-wise). Zoom LeBrons, on the other hand, have been always about what’s best in basketball industry, although it seems they have been affected as well with The Six starting the new wave. Yesterday we profiled the Dunkman ZSIII and today we continue our coverage with some fresh flicks presenting one of its main features… the 3M reflective material used on the upper! First we rooted for a Dunkman GR, but we got a Light Grey version without the logo (ZS1, Low ST, ZLV). Then, last year, the Dunkman ZS2 and ZL5 Low sported the new Dunkman logo, but the Light Grey was still not right. Now we can honestly say there’s a deserving Mean Green Nike Zoom LeBron sneaker just asking to be copped! Keep your eyes pealed as HOHs might not be the only place to scoop those. Akron Nike Zoom LeBron VI Personalized for AU Zips Showcase

Akron Nike Zoom LeBron Six… the shoe that has targeted Akron as its main inspiration. Finally fans from 330 have a special sneaker for their own special NBA player. For years LeBron James has been talking about “putting Akron on the map” and although he did just that when designing the Zoom LeBron V, the Akron Six seems to be a better fit. We have featured this shoe several times already, but this time we have some photos of our own exclusively for our faithful readers. In the past it was hard to spot King James wearing his signature shoes off the court, but he did wear this memorable sneaker during 2009 NBA All-Star Dunk Contest. With its unique design the Akron ZLVI is definitely one of the best colorways released. Apparently you think so too. The sole is probably the best part as it incorporates all three colors - White, Navy and Gold - in a very cool design featuring a translucent outsole. Also, it features a White toe along with Navy side panels that include detailed images of LeBron’s home city, right down to the sign from the street (Hickory) he grew up on. Dunkman Nike Zoom Soldier III Drops on Saturday

Nike won’t wait till the first GR to hit stores as they’re launching the Dunkman ZS3 on Satuday - 4/11. It’s a limited release at Footlocker’s House of Hoops (New York, Chicago). Stay tuned for more real photos…UPDATE: Here are some fresh pics. Like announced before the Gun Metal Grey is officially back!!! After several years of Dunkman GRs in Light Grey, we are finally able to scoop a pair implementing the original Dunkman concept. Yes! Comparing to other ZSIII’s there’s one change… the Dunkman logo and the L23 logo have switched places as the Mean Green Dunkman is displayed more proudly now. Also, the upper (Grey) features a reflective 3M material for more of a pop. Don’t sleep on these beauties as they drop tomorrow at two House of Hoops stores. They will release in Asia too, but the date is unknown.

Jordan Brand has given a preview of some of the shoes that it has coming out for 2009. During a private preview Jordan Brand showed a slew of unique Air Jordan 1s in both high top and low top form.The high top Air Jordan I (1) shown are two versions. The first is an all black version made of leather with red laces, sole, and a large red Nike Swoosh, which seems to be made out of a felt material giving it a fuzzy look. The shoe has yellow stitching that really complements the black and red and brings the shoe together yet still keeps it looking fresh. The next AJ1 is also the high top form, but reverts back to more conservative colors, which are gray and black. The shoe is an equal combination of black and gray, but the gray is more creased giving it that worn-in/retro look.The low top AJ1s shown are two versions all of which have polka dots. The first is predominately black with yellow polka dots, while the second one is predominately white with green polka dots. So if your looking to get your polka dots on this year then Jordan Brand has you covered. Be on the look out for these to drop soon.
